Hi Folks,

Well, it's 2012 already and it will be Christmas again before you know it.  2011 went by like a whirlwind.  God sure was good to us in 2011, and we're looking forward to His blessings again this year as well.  With a new year, many new challenges have to be faced, new victories to be won, new songs to be sung, and doors to go through new and old. Along this line,  let me say what a wonderful time we have had sharing the Gospel with our good friend and tenor singer, Blake Stallings.  Blake announced to us that the Lord was leading him to step back from the tenor position and catch his breath.  Blake, his wife Sandra and all his family have been a true blessing to us, and we will surely miss them each time we take off to a concert.  Blake as most of you know, is a full time Pastor of Rock Springs FWB Church of Bailey, NC, and also holds a job with the Johnston County School System.  Sometimes we just have to stop and take inventory of our life to be sure the direction is in God's will.  Again, we wish Blake and all his family God's best in whatever He has lined up for them in the future.  Since Blake made his announcement to us, we began seeking for a new tenor .  We hope you will help us make welcome Tim Daughety, as he becomes the new tenor for the Oak Grove Boys.    Tim comes with a Southern Gospel background, having sung with our good friends, The Ambassadors of Rocky Mount, for several years he has shown his ability and desire to minister through song.  He has a very good voice that will be easy to blend with, and we have a sense of excitement as we work on new arrangements and material.  We look forward to working with Tim and pray you will come and give us a listen to real soon.

On Feb. 18,     2012 we will be doing a benefit sing for Little 4 year old Paxten Summerlin.  Paxten is the son of Gray and Kevin Summerlin and the grandson of Ray Summerlin deceased original member of the Oak Grove Boys and brother to Roger and Larry.  Paxten was born with  a medical condition that I can't even say or spell, but to sum it up, he is allergic to food and it is a life threatening condition that causes him to not be able to breathe.  We are raising money to help purchase a specially trained dog that will accompany Paxten to school and wherever he goes to alert him of foods that are dangerous to him.  This type of dog is very expensive and we hope you will come out to West Edgecombe Baptist church to help in this fundraising.

You can contact us by phone for booking the Oak Grove Boys at 252-236-4857.    You can also email me about a booking at roger@oakgroveboys.com or rtsummerlin@embarqmail.com..  .

God Bless You real good!

Roger
